Well, after I mulled it over and reconciled myself to the fact that I would have to layer something underneath, I was all in! Aside, from the sheer factor, this sweater is absolutely adorable! Flattering fit (tts), great neutral colors and polka dots...what's not to love about polka dots?!

If you can get past the fact that you will have to layer, this is a great sweater. What are your thoughts on the Linen Polka Dot Popover?
This sweater looks fantastic on you! I love it, too, but I tried the xs on and it was huge and the xxs was WAY too tight. Hmmm...I'm wondering if the xs was tried on too many times and it was stretched out (it was the last one in the store--I had tried the xxs when it first came out)? Might have to order the xs and see how it fits. I don't mind wearing a cami underneath (or a button down!) because I get so chilly anyway and this sweater is really thin! Love how you styled it! :)
ReplyDeleteI think the sizing on one of those was off. You definitely need to re-order both sizes and see which one offers you the best fit. After wearing mine today, it did stretch out some, but not too much.
DeleteBTW, love all of your sets...you definitely justified the purchase! :o)
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this outfit!!!!! I wanted that sweater SO bad; however, tan colors don't look good on me up top. Super cute outfit, as always!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rynetta! Too bad they didn't offer it in additional colors. Do you hear us J Crew?! :o)
DeleteI love it but I too am torn over the sheerness. It's adorable and light weight but come summer time I won't want to add an extra layer. I wore mine with a bright cardi and didn't mind it.
ReplyDeleteI know...I felt the same way! For summer, I thought just a simple white tank top underneath would be cute and fairly cool.
DeleteI think its a lovely color and pattern! I too was bummed to hear about how sheer it is (how odd for a sweater!). I like that you are layering it with collared shirts, I would have done that same :)

I agree...I think it would have been much better in a more substantial material which would give you the option to layer or to wear alone.
DeleteI too have had my eye on the Linen Polka Dot pullover, and I really like the way you have styled it here. : ) I am actually happy that it's a thin linen sweater, so that it's easily layer-able for Spring and Summer. Because they're so versatile, I'm planning to add as many linen tops to my closet as my budget will allow. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks E! Most of the time, I'm inside so the layering is not really an issue. and in the case that I'm out and about, I thought a simple white tank would work well.
DeleteCheck the Crew for more linen sweaters...they have this same style sweater in solids. :o)
When I saw the linen polka dot pullover, my head said yes. But then after I read about how sheer it is, I have second thoughts. Seeing how great it looks on you layered with a shirt underneath is going to change my mind. So cute on you!
ReplyDeletehee hee! Same thought process here! Pretty polka dots...Yes! Sheer/See-Thru...No! Layered...I can make it work...Yes! What funny girls we are! :o)
Deletethis is just the perfect solution to the sheerness of it, I love how you styled it!
ReplyDeleteThanks, ajc! I HAD to figure out some way to make this sweater work. :o)
DeleteI love this outfit! I am so glad you started blogging again! I enjoy reading your posts and seeing your lovely outfits! I Am so LOVING jCREW'S shoes but not the prices! I have 3 kids in braces and expensive shoes aren;t in the budget! I love the dots with the ochre skirt, so pretty. :))
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!! I agree...I love so many of their shoes, but the pricing has gotten out of hand. I typically have to wait for sale and an additional percent off. My son is out of braces (and boy are those teeth beautiful :o)) but we're looking college in the eyes! (He starts this fall. :o))
