Start At The Top: 5 Tops That Every Closet Should Have

Sometimes it's good to get back to the basics...and here are five staple tops that every closet should have...and if while taking inventory, you find a gap, here are some recommendations :)

1.  White Shirt
I love a white button down!  It's great as a classic stand alone, but also an excellent base for layering.

2.  Stripe Tee
The epitome of french chic

3.  Chambray Shirt
If you could only choose one, this would be it!  Dress it up or down and wear it year-round.

4.  Basic Sweater
You can wear it with everything from your favorite jeans to the classic pencil skirt.

5.  Printed Shirt
The perfect way to add a bit of panache to any outfit.

My Latest Loves

This blazer is all that and a bag of chips! and its the perfect addition to your spring/summer wardrobe.
Its tts (I purchased my normal 4) and currently marked down with an additional 30% off (use code EXTRAEXTRA)

Here are a few of the ways that I've worn mine....

J Crew Factory Seersucker Dress...

Everything about this dress is perfect from its classic cut to its fun, flared hemline.  Fit is tts (purchased my normal 6).

These pants were love at first sight, though it did take a couple of tries to get the sizing right.  and you absolutely can't beat the price point!  I paid $20 for mine, but pricing could vary depending on the current promo.

And about that sizing...keeping in mind, that my waist and hips are roughly the same size, (I have no butt and hips to speak of) I would suggest sizing down.  Typically in ON pants, I run between a 4 and a 6, but in these, the 2 was the best fit for me.

Are we seeing a pattern here? :)   Lots of seersucker and gingham!!  Well, it is that time of year!
Obviously, I love most anything seersucker!  and these with the cropped, slightly flared hem, I couldn't resist.  They are tts (purchased my normal 4)
