I have desperately tried to find a red gingham/plaid shirt but I can't seem to find one in my size. J Crew has the perfect shirt in red gingham but it is completely sold out online. I also contacted J Crew for a "We will find it for you" search....much to my dismay, they did not. (find it, that is) That being said, if you my bloggie friends, see a red gingham check shirt in your holiday shopping travels, please, please, pretty please let me know. (fyi...in the J Crew shirt I would need a 4 or 6)
Consequently, this was as close as I could get to a re-creation of her precious, preppy combo.
J Crew Tartan Perfect Shirt - Size 6

J Crew Wool Bella Blazer in Black - Size 6
J Crew Matchstick Jeans - Size 27

I think it looks quite lovely with the red chambray shirt! The tartan shirt is quickly becoming one of my favorites to wear and I hope to keep wearing it past the holidays. The cap toe pumps are adorable and I am on the lookout for a pair myself. Happy holidays and thanks for mentioning me!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ina! Merry Christmas to you and your family as well...Hope Santa is good to you! :o)
ReplyDeleteSmall Town Gal...I'm a layering mad-woman! :o) Hope you have a wonderful Christmas!
Apples and Pencil Skirts...I got my tartan last year and I still love it just as much as when I first laid eyes on it. I am loving these shoes and I believe you can still get them from Amazon for $40...a steal! Hope you have a blessed Christmas!
How very funny I too was looking for a red gingham after seeing her post!! Then I saw this http://whatiwore.tumblr.com/post/14510601209/what-i-wore-holly-jolly from Jessica Quirk from What I Wore and decided to go with her version!! I couldn't find a gingham shirt for the life of me and still haven't buuut I do indeed have the red chambray and now you have given me another option!! I was so focused on the gingham that I overlooked both my blue and red chambrays!!! My BFF has both the red and green tartans and has decided to wear them as a layered pair!! Oh the endless possibilities!!
ReplyDeleteLove the plaid top, lookes great.
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays to you!
Cryst...thanks for the link to Jessica Quirk's post! So very cute! and I love those shoes! I may have to see if I can track those down. :o)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore both my red and blue chambray...both were from Target and dirt cheap. $17 for the red and $10 for the blue...can't beat that! If I'm able to locate a red gingham check shirt, I be sure to let you know! Hope you have a very Merry Christmas!
Just Tututiny...Thanks so much! I've worn this top so much lately, it's going to be threadbare before long! Merry Christmas to you! Thanks for stopping by!
Great outfit! I clicked on the link for the gingham shirt and it's still available to order but it's backordered to February. Not sure if you want to wait that long!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you and your family!
Oh, thanks Louise...they must have updated it since yesterday. I think I'll just hop over there and get my name on the waiting list! :o) Thanks a bunch! I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas too!
ReplyDeleteThose red shoes are on sale at payless.com for $20!!!! One of my best purchases this fall!! Merry Christmas to you, your family and all of your readers!!!
ReplyDeleteI am definitely going to see if I can find a pair in my size...looks like they're sold out on line. BTW...I did put my name on the waiting list for the J Crew red check shirt which is not supposed to arrive until 2/6. Maybe it will ship sooner.(fingers crossed) :o)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing how difficult it is to find a red gingham shirt?! I had been looking for one since last year so grabbed it with one of the JC promos a while back. My mom would have and my MIL would shudder at the pattern mixing but I've worn the shirts that way, still trying to see if I dare to mix in a third tartan. ;) Love the girly pearls you wear with the shirt, looking cute as always! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThe tartan and gingham shirts are so pretty together.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Christmas! :)
Thanks Tiffany Rose! I wear the heck out of these pearls! As for the red gingham shirt, who would have "thunk" it! Everywhere I looked...sold out! I was finally able to get waitlisted for the J Crew one yesterday. I went back and looked today just for the fun of it...the size 4 is sold out again.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas! Hope Santa brings you lots of goodies!
ABC...I agree! I saw it on Apples and Pencil Skirts and went into robot mode...must copy outfit, must copy outfit! :o)
Hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a happy, HEALTHY New Year!
