I totally stole today's look from the lovely Slastena at About All and Nothing At All.  She always looks fabulous and this outfit was no exception.  I love the pairing of leopard with the soft blue-green cardi.

Also today, I'm wearing my hair in a sock bun...yes, there's an actual sock in there.  Have you heard of it?  It's adorable and super simple....I just need a little more practice with the bobby pins.

I wish that I could have gotten some better pics for you...sorry! (But do you know how hard it is to take pictures over your shoulder?  :o))  If you're interested, check out The Other Emily.  She does a much better job!

The sharif don't like it, Rock the Casbah, Rock the Casbah...What can I say, I was in high school in the 80's and this song was popular.  It will be stuck in my head now for the rest of the day! :o)

Grrrr!  I may have taken my leopard love over the top today!  :o) 

I was in-store last week and ran across these cafe capris in jade on the sale rack with an additional 30% off...yes, please!  (J Crew kills me with their inconsistent pricing....these pants are still full price on-line.)  If you haven't tried these pants, I highly recommend them!  They have a slim, more tapered leg than the classic cafe capri and the color offerings are out of this world.  Everywhere you look these days, you see color, color, color...from fashion magazines to store windows, it's all about color.  These pants would be a great way to dabble in the trend.

1. My favorite color: Currently, it's orange and if you frequent my blog, you probably already know this.  (I even have orange nail polish on my toes right now!  OPI's A Roll in the Hague...I highly recommend it.  :o))
2. My favorite animal: Oh, I LOVE animals period!  I've always wanted a pig but I haven't been able to talk my husband into that just yet.  I guess if I have to choose just one, I'll choose the good 'ole dog...loyal and always there when you need a friend! 
3. My favorite number: 7 – In Hebrew, it means full, complete, good and perfect.
4. My favorite drink: Starbuck's Salted Caramel Latte...to die for!

Eighteen years ago today, my baby was born...and even though he's all grown up, he's still my baby!  I love him more than words can say!  For all of you ladies out there who are in the midst of late night feedings, temper tantrums, bad attitudes and the like....this too, shall pass!  Eighteen years will fly, so enjoy every one of them!

Sure you can!  Be fashionable, that is, without spending a fortune.  Today's outfit is proof positive!

Under $70 without the shoes.  (which by the way, are old Ann Taylor Loft).  Sometimes we have this mindset that we have to spend a mint in order to be fashionable, but with so many great retailers out there, that's just not the case.  Target and Old Navy are both great options for on trend but yet affordable attire.  Have you shopped either of these retailers recently?  What other stores offer fashionable and affordable clothing/accessories?

OOTD 4/19/2012 - Bright and Dotty

Today's look is inspired from one of J Crew's April catalog ensembles.  As I was perusing the latest catalog, I was instantly drawn to this pairing in all of its polka dot and bright colored glory so I immediately scurried off to the closet to see what I could pull together in an effort to re-create this look.

O spring, spring, wherefore art thou spring?  The NC weather has turned cool and rainy...but I refuse to go back to winter attire. (stomps foot)  Today's outfit is my attempt to be both warm and yet "spring-like".

Reviews: Factory Casbah Pencil Skirt and Icon Trench

I paid the Crewlet a visit this weekend and came home with the Casbah Pencil Skirt in tow.

The colors are absolutely gorgeous...blues, greens, brown and black! The possibilities for this skirt are endless.

The fit is tts to a touch small. My normal size 4 was a bit tighter than some of my other pencils in the same size, but not enough so that I felt the need to size up.

Also, the Factory Icon Trench....

All in all, it seemed fairly well made and the fit was tts.  (I swing between 4 and 6 in coats and jackets and the 4 was a perfect fit)  It is fully lined and hit my 5' 5 1/2" frame three or four inches above the knee.

Today I'm wearing one of my all-time favorite skirts from J Crew.  I passed on it initially only to realize, "OMG...What Was I Thinking!!"  After many hours spent searching ebay, I was finally able to score one about a year ago.  (It was time well spent!  :o))

This skirt is a classic!  If you can lay your hands on one, I highly recommend it!

Chambray For Work And Play

One of the items that every closet needs is a chambray shirt.  Talk about a work-horse!  It goes with almost everything, can be dressed up or down and even better, you don't have to spend a fortune...mine actually came off of the Target clearance rack. ($9)

This last pair is somewhat reminiscent of J Crew's Viv.  I've actually got my eye on the leather viv's in rooftop red...but if they're not in your budget or you can't wait for a sale, these would be an excellent substitute.

I read Ines de la Fressange's book, "Parisian Chic: A Style Guide" where she offers pointers on how to dress like a Parisian.  A couple of her must have items for your closet are a navy sweater and a pair of white jeans.  So today I went Parisian chic, paired the two together and accessorized with one of my favorite scarves....the look is classic, timeless and effortless.
