A Week Of Plaid - Day 5

Whew!!!  I made through this crazy week at work and now I have a week and a half of glorious time away.  It's hard to believe that Christmas is just two short days away but luckily, all of the shopping is done, wrapped and ready to go.

Well, except for one tiny thing.  We bought my mother-in-law a Keurig Brewing System, as well as some of the flavored coffee and drink packs.  I should have known better but I put the boxes of coffee packets in a bag under the tree.  Mistake...one of the boys decided to have coffee. (Buttered Toffee Coffee, to be exact.  :o))    and I came home to the little k-cup packs all over the living room floor.   

He looks innocent but he's not.  :o)

Review: Forever 21 Polka Dot Ballet Flats

Polka dots are all the rage these days, so why not add some cute dotted shoes to your closet.

I first spotted these from Loeffler Randall....

However, if $295 for polka dot shoes is not in your budget, check out these from Forever 21...

Now they're not calf hair and they are minus the cute little cap toe but they ring up for a mere $14.80.

They are beige faux suede with black polka dots, so they should be a very versatile way to pull off the polka dot trend.

While I prefer the pointed toe, these have an almond shaped toe which is somewhere in between.

As for sizing, they run tts and I took my normal size 7.  I haven't worn them yet for any length of time, but first impressions are that they seem comfortable.

All in all, I think that these polka dot cuties from Forever 21 are a great way to jump into the polka dot trend without breaking the bank.

Review: Banana Republic Buffalo Plaid Coat

Looking for a plaid coat?  Well, you might want to check out this one from Banana Republic.

It's wool-blend and I would say medium weight...so, it makes a great transitional coat or would be perfect for  those in milder climates.  

The wool is not super soft but what it lacks there, it makes up for in style.  This coat offers a tailored fit without the price tag.  It retails for $250 and has been marked down to $198 with an additional 30% off ($138.60).  Also, it qualifies for free shipping.

This red and black plaid beauty is fully lined with double breasted closure and belted at the waist.  As for sizing, I would say it is tts.  I purchased a small and the fit is perfect.

So, if you're in the market for a plaid coat, give this one from Banana Republic a try.  It's a perfect combination of the classic tie belt coat paired with fashion forward plaid.

Another day, another pair of herringbone capri pants.  Not that it will stop me if the right pair comes along, but I really do not need another pair of capri pants.  I have jumped into this trend full force and I think I now officially own more cropped pants than I have of the full length version.

I know some think the capri pant thing for winter is a bit strange.  What are your thoughts?

I already had the herringbone cafe capri in the black/white version, so when I stumbled across the pink ones for about $30...well, it was a no-brainer.

I especially love the mix of a masculine and feminine....a menswear inspired pant tailored for us girls and finished off in the ultimate girly pink.
