O Happy Day

I am soooo excited!  My son is coming home tomorrow!  It will be the first time that I've seen him since we dropped him off, two weeks ago.  It's been a loooonnnngggg two weeks!

In anticipation of his arrival, I've been busy stocking the pantry with his favorite foods, planning his favorite meals and freshening up his room with clean sheets and therefore I've missed posting a few of my last ootd's.

Our temps have dropped and so I took the opportunity to wear this new skirt from the factory.  It's a beautiful dusty pink and I love the knubby texture of the tweed.  It's hard to tell from the picture, but the skirt has a taupe background...so these two tie together quite nicely.

So, most of you know that Friday is the "BIG" day...we take my son to college and my husband and I will officially be "empty nesters". 

As my son was growing up, periodically he and I had mother/son days.  We had all kinds of great fun and made lots of memories.  and so today, the tradition continues...we are visiting a big cat (lions, tigers and binturongs, oh my!) conservatory in our area. 

In honor of my son, I'm wearing my ON heart sweater.  I love my boy like crazy!  and I know I'm going to miss him like crazy too!!

...and since I didn't get this posted this morning as I intended, here's another look with the heart sweater.  I did a quick change into some jeans and I'm out the door to Wednesday night church services.

Review: Striped Blazer

Interested in a striped knit blazer?  I may have found just the perfect one.  It's from Shade Clothing and the price is right too...$29.99 (with free shipping)

I missed out on both the retail J Crew Maritime Blazer and the Hello Sunday Anthropologie Blazer.

I was super excited when the factory came out with their version of the maritime blazer but the length was too short for my liking.  (Shade jacket on the left...J Crew Factory on the right)

And so the search continued until last week, when I happened across this jacket from Shade Clothing.  It is a nice thick (100% cotton) knit in black and white stripes with red accents inside.

There is also red trim inside the two front pockets, as well as, inside the cuffs.  How cute will that be with the sleeves rolled back?

It is vented in the back and it hits my 5' 5 1/2" frame about mid-hip.  and Even though it's knit, it still offers a nice structured fit.

I am wearing a Small.  For reference, I am usually a Small in J Crew sweaters and a 4 in the schoolboy blazer.
