Review: J Crew No.2 Pencil Skirt in Deck Stripe

From the moment that I laid eyes on this skirt, I was smitten.  J Crew sent out a lookbook early in the year featuring upcoming spring and summer items and this striped baby caught my eye.
J Crew describes it as:
A true design icon, meticulously shaped and seamed to figure-flattering perfection (say hello to mile-long legs). Styled in a linen and cotton blend with jaunty stripes born out of one designer's getaway to the Greek Isles. Always sharp and to the point, consider the No. 2 pencil your wardrobe's most noteworthy addition this season.
  • Sits at waist.
  • Back zip.
  • 20" long.
  • Linen/cotton
  • Lined
It retails for $118.
The fit is tts to a touch small.  The fit is identical to the no. 2 pencil skirt in eyelet, if you're familiar with that particular skirt.  I'm wearing the tangier orange which is very close to J Crew's former wasn't a perfect match but very close to the orange of my Biella patent loafers.   This skirt also comes in coastline blue.

Have you tried the pencil skirt in deck stripe?  If so, was it a yeh or neh?

  1. A Sister Thing...Me too! Highly recommend! :o)

  2. I tried, but didn't like it. I was surprised because I thought this would be a winner for me. Oh well. Looks great on you :)

  3. I love love love this skirt and am now waiting and hoping customer service will get back to me with one they've found in my size. I am having a hard time choosing which size to get though because I teeter between a tiny bit tight fit or a tad loose...argh. Does it stretch?

    1. I hope they're able to locate one for you...fingers crossed! It does stretch some...I went with the 4, which is my normal J Crew pencil skirt size and its perfect!
