Help Save Tweed And Toile

The existence of Tweed and Toile is being threatened....Yesterday, I tried to upload some photos to a post and received the following message:

Whoops! You're out of space. You are currently using 100% of your 1 GB quota for photos. Upgrade storage

Photos are stored in your Picasa Web Albums account and are included in your 1 GB free quota for photos. Additional storage you purchase is shared between several Google products and is in addition to your free quota. Learn more

Unless, there is some automated storage option, I'm not aware that I've uploaded to Picasa. (at least not purposefully)  Last night, I even tried to upload the pictures directly from my phone to the post and still got the same message.   I've mentioned before that I'm technically challenged.  and also, not very patient...it's a bad combination.  :o)  So it you have any words of wisdom to offer, I would greatly appreciate it!

  1. I think this is because Blogger is a Google product, as is Picasa, so many (maybe all?) of the photos that you post on the blog are backed up onto Picasa. You can login to Picasa using your google login (it's either your Blogger login or your Gmail/Google login) and see if they're there. Not sure what the answer is to this, though. I got the same message yesterday, but I DO upload my photos to Picasa and so I just deleted some extraneous albums and am ok for now.

  2. This happened to me too. There is an option to pay 2.95 a month for extra storage, and this is what I did. HTH. I definitely don't want to lose your amazing blog!!!!!

  3. I believe that photos under a certain size are excluded from the total. If you log into Picasa and resize your photos to a max of 1000 pixels tall, it should make them small enough to keep posting more. It's a pain to do this manually, but I haven't found a way around it yet.

  4. This happened to me too. I had to buy more storage, but it was a one time only payment of about $5. I think there should be a link somewhere that will take you to google/picasa to buy more storage.

  5. Yes I had to pay for more storage too - didn't understand any of it of course.

  6. I think Danielle is right - you can always delete old albums on Picasa, pay for addtl storage, or start hosting your blog pics on Photobucket or Flickr.

  7. I got the same message a week ago and I was panicking. But then I changed the sizes of my photos and they seem to be fine. I didn't really feel like paying for storage. That's for sure.

    1. I changed the sizes of pictures by going to tools from previewing pictures. I have a Mac. I edit the size of pictures before posting on my blog and they are fine. Hope this helps.

  8. I would suggest deleting blogs. I have a problem on principle of paying for it...

  9. I'm here for moral support as I'm fairly clueless about these things. Guess what you're facing may be something I'll cross at some point, I should start resizing pics now.

    Good luck!

  10. I use Picasa, but I don't use the albums. At least I don't think I do. I work in the software to watermark and then I re-size and save to a folder on my computer. I upload pics from my computer while I blog. Maybe that's an extra step and why it takes me a long time to blog. lol

I haven't recvd a warning message. I am on Blogger, but I moved from .blogspot to .com awhile back and maybe I have more storage availability as a result? I don't know much about these things either. Just sharing my experience. Good luck :)

  13. I use flickr for that reason and then copy and past the codes into my blog. I won't pay for storage on blogger.
