Happy Halloween

I wanted to wear something today that was festive but yet not too "halloween-y".  So I thought, when in doubt, put the punch in your shoes...and so I did.  I pulled out the orange shoes, paired them with black and white pants and kept everything simple on top.

Cropped pants are a huge trend right now.  Everywhere you look, there they are....on the runways, in the fashion magazines and at your favorite retailer.  And according to the experts, they are perfect for any occasion...from a day at the office to a swanky cocktail party.

While I don't attend many cocktail parties, I do go to the office everyday.  So, this week I'm honoring the capri pant trend.  Yesterday it was leopard, today it's tweed...what capris will tomorrow bring?

Today's ootd is an attempt to wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness, as October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month.  I realized when trying to put together a "pink" outfit that my wardrobe is somewhat lacking in the pink department.  I'll have to see if I can fix that!  :o)

Also, I wanted to share a cute sweater that I came across last night at the Crewlet.  It's a polka dot Charley...J Crew Factory's version of the retail tippi sweater.

It is currently offered in two colorways...camel dots on black and green dots on navy.  and it's made from 36% nylon, 35% viscose, 28% merino wool and 1% alpaca...I know this will be a deal breaker for some.

It retails for $88...but if you're familiar with the factory, they have monthly promotional pricing and usually you can find a coupon for an additional discount off of the promo price.  So according to my calculations, that should put it somewhere in the $50-$60 range.

With Halloween right around the corner, I am in the process of preparing treat bags for my nieces...as well as, for my eighteen year old son.  (He likes it...I know he does!  :o))

I wanted to share an idea that I found on Pinterest...it's a super cute and easy way to dress up a chocolate bar.

I wrapped my bar with one inch self-adhesive gauze, glued on the googly eyes and tied it all together with a pretty festive ribbon.  and there you have it....Trick or Treat!

I first read about the Merona watch in Shopping with M's post "Cheap Thrills".  (Thanks for the tip, M :o))  I love and have had my eye on the Michael Kors Horn Watch; however, when introduced to this little lovely for a fraction of the cost...well, it was a no-brainer.

Here is the Michael Kors watch which rings up at $195....

and here is the Merona watch available at Target for $14.99....

Not bad, right?!  I've got to have a couple of links removed from mine and will probably end up paying more for that than I did for the watch.  Oh well....
