My first Madewell order arrived today....
the Herringbone Cardigan. It fits tts. I am usually a size Small in J Crew sweaters so, after consulting some other JCAs and "chatting" with a Madewell specialist, I decided to go with the Small in this as well. The fit is good...not too tight, not too loose...and I am able to button it comfortably without any pulling. When unbuttoned, it fits exactly as shown on the model.
The only other thing to mention about fit....the arms are somewhat fitted. So, if you have bigger/muscular arms this may present a problem.
The weight of the sweater is akin to the J Crew "dream" sweaters except it seems a little more dense. I got the beach pebble color, which I was told was brown. Ummmm, unless I'm color-blind it's more like charcoal or faded black trimmed in oatmeal with brown buttons. The buttons are plastic/resin crafted to resemble leather.
All in all, I think it's a keeper and will be a cute go-to sweater this fall.
