Review: J Crew Factory Skimmer Pant in Black Watch Plaid

It was love at first sight for the Crewlet Skimmer Pant in Black Watch Plaid.  I think, for me, they will only get limited holiday wear but I got them for a fair price so that's ok.  They retail for $89.50; however, they are currently 30% off, as well as an additional 20% through November 13. The lovely plaid is made from 38% wool, 30% polyester, 29% viscose and 3% spandex.  They are fully lined and the cut is almost identical to the retail wool cafe capri.  They have front slant pockets, as well as, two back welt pockets.  The fit is tts...I took my normal size 4.

What a Zoo

Happy Monday...Wow, where did the weekend go?!  My son came home for the first time in three weeks, so needless to say, it was a good one!

I hope everyone's week is off to a great start!

Review: J Crew Long-Sleeve Tweed Dress

When this dress made its debut, my first thoughts were, Perfection...Tweed, beautiful neckline and a classic, Jackie-O vibe.

As some things go, it was good in concept but not so much in reality.  I'm wearing my normal size 6 and the fit on top was perfect...as if it had been tailor made.  The bottom however was a different story.  It ran big in the hips....you can see in the picture on the right where I've gathered up two or three inches in the back.

I found the dress to be heavy and hot.  It's made of 49% cotton, 28% acrylic and 23% polyester, so it doesn't breathe very well.  I could see myself sweating the day away.

I did like the frayed neckline, waist and sleeves...very chanel!  Nevertheless, even on deep discount the fit is a deal breaker for me.

Have you tried J Crew's tweed dress?  If so, what were your thoughts?

So, if you've been around long, you know that I am a sucker when it comes to the stray animal.  Yesterday as my husband was leaving for work, he came back into the house and said, "Come here, you've got to see something.  They've done it to us again."

When I stepped out the back door, there was the cutest face staring back at me.

I shouted, "Oh, it's a puggle!"  He was so sweet...he wanted to crawl up in my lap and give me lots of kisses. 

Luckily, we were able to contact his owner and deliver him safely back home.  However, it was a close call...I guess if no one had claimed him, I would have had to change my name to My5Boys.  :o)
