The lovely plaid is made from 38% wool, 30% polyester, 29% viscose and 3% spandex. They are fully lined and the cut is almost identical to the retail wool cafe capri. They have front slant pockets, as well as, two back welt pockets. The fit is tts...I took my normal size 4.
Here are just a few of the ways that I plan to wear mine....
Have you tried these pants? If so, what were you're thoughts?
They look amazing on you! I have to admit, I saw them at the Crewlet site and was a bit intimidated by them....I wasn't sure how easy they would be to pull off but you rock them! I love each of the outfit ideas you posted as well! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks Nicole! Like I said, it was love at first sight, but I did also have the thought that I may look like a clown. Needless to say, I forged ahead! :o)
DeleteHope you're a having a great weekend too!
These pants look so good on you. Do they fit similar to the cafe capri?
ReplyDeleteThanks STG! The fit on these is almost identical to the retail wool cafe capris.
DeleteI have been debating on these pants, but seeing them on you I think I'm convinced. They look super cute on you! I'm thinking they might look good with a denim shirt too.
ReplyDeleteOh definitely, I think you will love them! and you're so right about the denim shirt! I am obsessed with mine...don't know why I didn't think about it. Thanks for the tip!
DeleteSO cute on you!! I love every outfit you've planned, and will totally be stealing. Agree that for the limited time frame, the price is spot on and the quality is quite nice.
ReplyDeleteThanks M...steal away! :o) and I agree, everything about these pants is quite nice...price, quality, fit, etc. With J Crew's increasing price hikes, I may find myself doing more and more factory.
DeleteI've been debating these pants as I love a good tartan for trousers. Oh geez, you look so good in them I might have to go for it. If they were only 100% wool or a nice wool/silk blend I'd be all in but then they'd be a lot more $$$ ...
ReplyDeleteThese have your name written all over them! (hee hee :o)) Imo, they are definitely worth the price. If they were retail, they would be selling for $168. and some of the recent retail has been a wool/nylon blend. (specifically the cafe capri in camel plaid)
DeleteHi Andrea. I need a little size advice? Do you have this season's factory skimmer in glen plaid? I went up a size on those when I ordered after reading blogs. The waist was a little big but I couldnt have gone smaller in the thighs This years wool cafe cafe size runs a bit smaller than last years IMO so it is making me nervous. to order. I don't live near a crewlet so buying two sizes isn't practical for me. Don't think I'm crazy, but does this fit like a big 4 or a small 4?
ReplyDeleteSorry, I don't...this was my first pair of factory pants.
Deleteand let me preface my answer by saying, I have no butt or hips to speak of and my waist is my biggest area. As for size, I thought they were spot on to a tiny touch big. I measured both my fall 2012 retail wool cafe capri and these (both size 4) and here is what I came up with:
Retail Wool Cafe Capri
Waist 16"
Thigh 10.25" (measured 6" down inseam)
Factory Plaid Skimmer
Waist 16.25"
Thigh 10.25"
Hope this helps! and believe me, I don't think you're crazy. :o)
Love these! Mine arrived today and I can't wait to wear them. I like them a lot better than the cafe capri in tartan red - I tried them on last weekend and just wasn't convinced about the color. This factory pair is fabulous! They are quite vibrant, which I like. On size: I wear a 4 or a 6 in cafe capri depending the fabric (and slight size variation that sometimes occurs) and I look a 6 in these.
ReplyDeleteI agree...I think these little pants are quite fabulous! and wow, you could buy three pair of these as compared to the retail tartan. (at $168) I'm with you, I can't wait to wear them!
DeleteThey look gorgeous! I'm a big fan of the tartan print. I look forward to seeing you style these over the holidays!
ReplyDeleteThanks M! Me too...pretty much any plaid or check and you can count me in! :o)
DeleteOhhh, I LOOVE this pants even more now after seen it on you! It looks great, beautiful colors and fully lined! I just got the shipping confirmation on mine, and next Tuesday I'll have it on hands! I can't wait!!! Thnx for the pictures, lovely set! Xo
ReplyDeleteJust wait until you see them irl...you are going to love them! I'll probably hear you squealing all the way in NC! :o)
DeleteOh these are awesome! You look great in them!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Laura...Can't wait to wear them!
DeleteAm so happy to see this! I just ordered them this week to be my christmas pants! Yay - they look great and your styling ideas where remarkably like mine so I am really pleased!
ReplyDeleteThese will be perfect Christmas pants! After Thanksgiving next week, we should be good to go. :o)
DeleteLOVE these but fear they would be too short on me. Oh the hearbreak of being a tall girl in a world that doesn't always offer Tall sizing! :)
ReplyDeleteFor reference, I'm 5'5 1/2"...gotta get that extra half inch in there. :o) I have a friend who 6'1", so I understand your struggles. :o(
DeleteThe tartan skimmers are fantastic on you - I love them! I just ordered the solid version as my first foray into cropped tailored trousers. I went up a size from the other blog reviews, hope that was right!
ReplyDeleteUh-oh! You may be in for trouble! I love the cropped trousers! I actually may have just as many of them as I do in regular full length slacks.
DeleteCan't wait to hear the verdict!
I nabbed the last pair in my size!
ReplyDeleteI think you're going to be glad you did. (fingers crossed) Let me know what you think when they arrive.
DeleteLove those pants. I have the tartan shirt which is similar in print but the print on the pants seems to "pop" out a little more. Great outfit!
ReplyDeleteYep, I have the tartan shirt from several years ago too! ;o) and you're right, these pants are more vibrant than the print of the shirt.
