I made a quick stop at the Crewlet yesterday to make some returns.  I wasn't able to get any pictures but noticed they have several new items that are not on-line.

If you missed out on the retail version of these items, you may be interested.

Last fall's natasha in wildcat sold quickly and was perhaps on of my favorite fall purchases.  The crewlet is offering their version...same print, same style minus the ruffles. 

Also, they have the Jules dress in wildcat. 

And if you missed the quincy tartan plaid perfect shirt, that's available as well.

I thought this skirt was gorgeous and I missed its retail predecessor, so I may have to venture back and purchase this one.  It's the Crewlet version of last year's no.2 pencil skirt in vintage tweed.

For you polka dot and stripe lovers out there, I also noticed that they had a couple of new tippis (I think they call them charley) in merino wool...a navy with small white dots, as well as, a couple of colorways in a wide stripe.

Thanks and all credit go to my friend, milljcrew, for putting this outfit together.  She even pointed me in the direction of these pants, which by the way, are available at The Loft.  I was able to get them for just $14.75...now that's what I call a deal!

Review: J Crew Jeweled-Collar Sweater

When I saw this sweater, I was super excited!  I loved the herringbone and the gorgeous jeweled collar.

It arrived today and I have to say that I'm disappointed.  The fit seems off...I'm typically a S in J Crew sweaters, but this one seems somewhat boxy and does nothing to flatter me.  I wonder if sizing down would help or if then perhaps, the arms may be too tight.  

The sleeves, I suppose, are bracelet length.  You can see where they hit on my arm above.  The sweater is made of 50% alpaca and 50% wool, so it's a bit itchy.  I'm not super sensitive and if I loved it, I could deal with it...but for those "delicate flowers" out there, this one's probably not for you.

On the positive side, I love the neutral colors...they would be perfect for fall.  and the jeweled collar is gorgeous and adds some sparkle, making this a very unique sweater.  Nevertheless, for the $178 price tag, it would have to be love...and it wasn't.

I have been all-about the color green lately.  Not intentionally, I've worn some shade of green everyday this week.  Hmmm, wonder what tomorrow will bring?!  :o)

Pattern Mixing

I am linking up today with Marionberry Style as part of the "Trend of the Month Challenge".  This month's trend....Pattern mixing.

Pattern mixing is a huge trend right now!  and being the J Crew addict that I am, it was a must that I embrace this trend because they are all over it!

Combining colors and patterns in a way that looks dynamic takes some practice, but there are some basic tricks to getting it right. You can wear two prints that repeat the same colors or mix a large scale pattern with a smaller one.

 Today's outfit was inspired by this J Crew catalog look:

I didn't have the yellow heels, so I brought the yellow in with the necklace and went with neutral shoes.  As for the necklace, I think I'm going to remove the fourth and shortest strand...I think it will make the necklace more wearable.
