By the time I stumbled across this necklace, it was already sold out...so, I had to result to my stalking techniques.  The first time it popped back, it got away from me before I could check out.  Luckily, I was able to snag another pop-back last week...Yay!

Now don't get me wrong, I still love it, but it wasn't quite what I was expecting.

Based on this picture, I was expecting a yellow (lemon pulp), triple strand necklace.

Instead, what I received was more of a lime-yellow, four strand necklace.

Oh well, I'm still pleased but just in case anyone else is interested in this necklace and is able to catch it on a pop-back, at least now you know what you'll actually be getting.

Review: J Crew Puckered Dress

I've been on the hunt for the perfect white summer dress, so when I came across J Crew's Puckered Dress, I thought I'd give it a try.

J Crew describes it as:
Fresh cotton with a puckered feel lends subtle dimension to a sweet summer dress. Fashioned in a clean and classic silhouette, with a perfectly shirred skirt sure to put some swish in your step. It's the ultimate blank canvas—for bright ballets or a neutral heel—and destined to live in your closet for years.

• Cotton
• Sleeveless
• Fitted
• A-line skirt
• Falls to knee
• Lined
• Hidden back zip
• Side-seam pockets

It retails for $128 and comes in periwinkle and fresh kiwi, as well as, white.

The positives:
It's lined, so there's no see-thru issues.
It has pockets...love those.
It's a good length...I'm 5'5 1/2" and it hits just above my knee.
It's tts....I'm wearing a 4 but I would need to size up to a 6 (my normal dress size).  It's a little tight in the shoulders and bust.

The negatives:

It's a little too voluminous for my taste and a bit too cutesy.  I kind of feel like my hair should be in pig-tails and I should be skipping along carrying a big lollipop.

So, for me, the hunt for the perfect white summer dress continues.  At this rate, summer will be over before I find it.  :o)

J Crew sent out a lookbook early in the year featuring upcoming spring and summer items and from the moment that I laid eyes on the deck stripe skirt, I knew that I *needed* it. 

Stripes + Orangey-Red + Pencil Styling = 1 Great Skirt

I intended to copy the styling from one of the store windows at my local J Crew...I loved how they tied the arms of the sweater into a cute little bow.  (I'm such a sucker for those little details.)  Unfortunately, the arms of my vibrant flame tippi weren't long enough to make the bow...Dangit!

OOTD 7/10/2012 -Caribbean Queen

Today's post is two-fold...
First, the ootd:  This outfit reminds me of the caribbean with all of the blue/green.

Second, a few pics from our recent trip to the eastern caribbean:

Our first stop was Grand Turk in the Turks and Caicos...the water was gorgeous.  The boys went deep sea fishing.  Me, I shopped! :o)

Our second port was Half Moon Cay...this is a private island owned by the cruise line Holland America.

The water was absolutely gorgeous and the sand was like powdered sugar.

Our third stop was Nassau.  We traveled to another island called Blue Lagoon.  The front side of the island had all kinds of water toys, food and chairs for lounging in the sun.  This pic was taken from the back side of the island that was more rugged and less populated.

Atlantis resort in Nassau...It is absolutely gorgeous and a paradise of its own.  I would love to plan another trip back just to stay here for several days.

Needless to say, we had a wonderful time...It was a perfect mixture of relaxation and adventure.
